Teachers Pay Teachers is a double sided marketplace, comprising of educators who buy, sell, and share teaching material. Over 5 million people use TpT (Teachers Pay Teachers), housing hundreds of millions of educational resources to download, free and paid. TpT for Schools is an enterprise version of the site, and takes purchasing out of the teachers hands and gives it to their schools. It’s truly a win win. Teachers no longer have to pay themselves, and now the school can keep track of the resources for other teachers to use in the future.
The problem was that school administrators were using gift cards in a hacky way as their own version of a funded account. Otherwise they would pay by purchase order which had a $20 minimum and a $3.99 fee, therefore causing a delay in purchasing resources and delaying the teachers receipt of those resources.
I partnered with product managers, engineers, the TpT for Schools marketing team, finance, the community team, and more to research, create, test, and measure a brand new payment system which in the end increased teacher trust, and administrator efficiency.
